4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS COMMITTEE
About the Committee
The Templeton 4th of July Committee is made up of 12 local non-profit groups who share equitably in the profits from the sale of fireworks at a booth located on the corner of Las Tablas Rd and Florence. The following youth-based groups belong to the Committee: Templeton Kiwanis, Templeton 4H, Templeton Boy Scout Troop 434, Templeton Lions, Templeton 4H Beef Group, Templeton High School FFA PSG, Templeton 4H Goat Group, Templeton High School Football, TIMBA (THS Band support group), Templeton 4H Swine Group, Templeton Cub Scout Pack 434 and Templeton 4H Sheep Group.
Staffing Needs
The fireworks booth requires around the clock staffing from June 30th through July 4th. Shifts are split evenly between all groups. We also participate in the community cleanup at the Templeton park on the morning of July 5th. The community clean up is all ages. Scrip Sales
Each group within the Templeton 4th of July Committee has the ability to increase their portion of the proceeds by pre-selling Scrip. Scrip is a donation in $20 increments that acts as a discount towards the purchase of TNT brand merchandise.
There is a significant benefit to selling scrip over traditional booth sales. Each group that sells scrip makes 40 percent on their scrip sales as opposed to the smaller percentage of the profits from the total booth sales, which is disbursed equitably among all groups.
